The aim of this project developed with Nofima Norway (in collaboration with Unilever and Ikea), is to design a kitchen product that can help preventing domestic food poisoning, educating the user to safer behaviors.

Flipper cutting boards are made with layered silicone, designed with some premade fold lines that can transform them into objects with new functionalities, such as washing the vegetables or containing the ingredients after being chopped.

In this way the user is naturally pushed to use one only cutting board at a time based on the chopped ingredient, and the same cutting board won ‘t be used for other ingredients, lowering drastically the chances of cross-contamination. The result is a simple, functional and intuitive product, that can make a big impact on the user ‘s lifestyle with minimum learning effort.
